Women & Gender Studies: Home

Women & Gender Studies at OCU may include courses from English, Sociology & Criminal Justice, Religion, Political Science, History, and other departments. In addition to the resources in this guide, see the individual Research Guides for those disciplines for more information.

NEW! Archives of Sexuality & Gender

The Archives of Sexuality & Gender: LGBTQ History and Culture Since 1940 is a new database available through the Metropolitan Library System. It provides access to period-specific newspapers, magazines, letters, and other documents related to gay activism, feminism, the AIDS crisis, and other LGBTQ topics. Find it on this alphabetical list of MLS databases.

You may access the Archives and most other MLS databases on your own device, but you will need a Metro Library card to login. It's a good idea for all OCU students to get one. The card is free with a student ID, and the application is now online. The nearest Metro Library branches are the Belle Isle Library, 3621 NW Expressway (temporary location near Portland Ave.) and the Downtown Library, 300 Park Avenue.
