Library Visitors

The library counted 9,532 patrons in the library. This number is captured by periodically counting the patrons in the library. 

Study Rooms & Classrooms

Law Students made 2,206 study-room reservations, which was 6,593 hours of reserved study room time. This is a significant increase from the previous year with only ninety-two reservations at Gold Star and 213 at the new law school.  

Circulation

Library materials circulated 4,711 times. A circulation occurs when an item is charged and then discharged from a patron account. Included in the annual circulation count are items used in the library by patrons but not checked out; these are categorized as browsed items. The library offers circulation service to law students, law faculty, adjunct faculty, law alumni, area attorneys, non-law students and faculty, and OCU staff. Public patrons may borrow materials for use in the library, and other libraries may borrow materials through interlibrary loan.

Circulation for different patron groups vary from year to year. Law students checked out items 1,457 times this year accounting for 31% of circulations.  Law faculty checked out items 445 times accounting for 9% of circulations. Alumni and local attorneys checked out items 136 times accounting for 3% of circulations. 2,056, or 44%, of the circulations were items browsed or used in the library.

The library offers circulation service to law students, law faculty, adjunct faculty, law alumni, area attorneys, non-law students and faculty, and OCU staff. Public patrons may borrow materials for use in the library and other libraries may borrow materials through Interlibrary Loan.

 

Of all circulations in the past year, only 12% were turned in after their due date.
