Library Assistance

Reference librarians are available to assist students with finding and using library resources. A consultation appointment with a librarian can be useful for getting assistance searching for specific books and articles, conducting research, or using law library databases. To request a consultation with a reference librarian, email Professor Tim Gatton or Professor Le'Shawn Turner.

Study Rooms

Rooms 112, 113, 114, 119, 120, 206, 207, 215, 228, and 236 are available for reservation online.

Study room reservations must adhere to the follow guidelines or reservations may be canceled. Study room policies will be more strictly enforced during reading and finals weeks, as well as during bar study times.

  • Law Library study rooms on the first and second floor are for OCU Law students, or OCU Law alums studying for the Bar Exam.
  • You must use your OCU email address to reserve a room.
  • You must list the members of your group on the reservation.
  • Rooms may be booked no more than 1 week in advance.
  • "Reservation" refers to the entire period of time booked by a group per day.
  • Each person/group may reserve a maximum of 4 hours per day.
  • Reservations may not be made under multiple group members’ names in order to extend use of a study room beyond the maximum time.
  • Reservations may be forfeited if the group is more than 15 minutes late for their reservation or if they leave the room empty for more than 15 minutes. Unattended items will be taken to lost and found.
  • During Reading and Finals weeks, study room policies will be strictly enforced.

Homework and Research

Library Study Aids

Study aids are available for law students to use online and in the library. Library study aids are located in the shelving units on both ends of the circulation desk. Study aids may be checked out for 3 days at a time and may not be renewed.

Digital study aids can be accessed on West Academic Digital Study Aids.

Course and Permanent Reserves

Some courses may have textbooks and casebooks available for checkout via course reserves. Law students may check out a course reserve for 2 hours. For assistance checking out a course reserve, please visit the circulation desk.

Some digital course reserves may also be available on Lexis, TWEN, or D2L. For questions about course reserves, contact Susan Urban.

Bluebooks are also available for checkout as a permanent reserve and may be used for 2 hours. To check out a Bluebook, visit the library circulation desk.
