Official Guides to Chicago Manual of Style

Please note that CMS/Turabian includes two different citation styles. The Author-Date style uses in-text parenthetical citations and is commonly used in physical and social science writing.  The Note-Bibliography style, also known as Humanities style, uses footnotes or endnotes and a bibliography, and is the appropriate style for Religion and other Humanities disciplines. When looking at examples of citations, please take care to use the Note-Bibliography style.
