Oklahoma Consumers are protected by many state laws and regulations. The regulatory agency promulgating the rules relevant for a consumer issue will depend on the type of financial institution or entity with which the consumer is dealing. The Oklahoma State Banking Department promotes diversity and competition in financial services and products and helps ensure deposits are secure by promulgating rules and regulations governing the Oklahoma banking industry.
