Getting Started

There are three subscription databases that are helpful when compiling a legislative history: LLMC, HeinOnline, and ProQuest Congressional. There are also two databases that may be accessed: Congress.gov and Govinfo.gov.

Westlaw - Statutes at Large, Compiled Legislative Histories, USCCAN, USCA.

LexisNexis - Compiled Legislative Histories, USCS

Lexis Advance--USCS, has some federal legislative bill histories (bill summaries, presidential messages) back to 2009, but does not currently have the hearings, committee prints, and committee reports that LexisNexis has.
